Resort Wear 2017 – Evening Wear

Welcome to the last segment of our 2017 Resort Wear series!  The focus this week is on evening looks.  Whether you are planning a candlelit dinner on the beach or a night of bar-hopping, we’ve got your looks covered.

Romantic Waterfront Dinner Date

You’ll look stunning for your waterfront or beachfront dinner date in this silk one shoulder by BCBG.  The dress is paired with low-heeled, nude sandals – one of my favorite pieces to travel with as they go with virtually EVERYTHING you might want to wear in the evening.  Black, white, brights, pastels, skinny jeans; these sandals will work with them all. Dramatic drop earrings and a Caribbean-bright clutch complete this look.

For a night of bar hopping in town, I found an strapless maxi dress with an amazing knot detail in the back.  Throw on a pair of flat sandals and a denim jacket and you’re ready to go.  The white Everlane backpack can be used while sightseeing during the day and carried by it’s top strap at night.

A detailed black lace tunic and low heeled sandals dress up a pair of neutral ankle pants for an early dinner with the kids followed by activities at the resort. The peach wrap will help keep off the evening chill.

Resort Wear 2017: Swimwear

Swimwear is the focus of Part 2 of 3 in the Resort Wear 2017 series.  We’ve got four looks for you today that cover a range of personal style types.

Swimwear Look 1: Romantic/Feminine

First up is a romantic/feminine look.  This suit has been a favorite of mine on Pinterest.  It’s a simple, classic style made romantic by the addition of crochet trim.  A ruffled white tunic cover-up, embroidered straw bag and tasseled flip-flops complete this feminine girl’s look.

Apres Ski

This March I will be spending a long weekend at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek resort in Colorado thanks to free nights rewards from the Chase Hyatt Credit Card.  Thank you The Points Guy for all your great tips!  Making the reservation got me thinking about what I could wear for apres ski that would be warm, comfortable and chic.  This is one outfit I came up with, based on a combo of things already in my closet and new pieces.

  • North Face Metrolina Parka or Jacket ($195-290) – Bought this about a year ago in parka form.  It is SO warm!!! The black fabric has a slight iridescence to it which gives a bit more special of a look.  Love that you can remove the hood, wear it plain or with fur trim for different looks.  I’ll be using this for years!
  • Sorel Tofino Boot ($160) – Received as a gift last year – the faux fur trim adds fun to this waxed canvas and rubber-soled boot.  Warm, dry, classic!
  • Three Dots Chunky Knit Turtleneck (SALE $118) – Also works with jeans or a skirt.
  • Hue Ponte Leggings ($29-44) – Bought earlier this fall and have been wearing them to death.  Comfy and don’t stretch out.  Great for travel!  Love the heavier weight, they’re warm and look a bit more pant-like than the light cotton blends.
  • Elizabeth & James Antler Hoop Earrings and Ring (SOLDOUT) – cute nod to mountain life.
  • Julianne Shearling Tote (SOLDOUT) – Have always wanted something shearling and I love the urban meets rustic vibe of this roomy tote.
