Labels to Love: Cuyana

The company founders created Cuyana on the philosophy of owning fewer, better things.

More on that outlook in weeks to come!

Cuyana focuses on clean-lined, quality designs for women and has instituted a philanthropic “lean shipping” option at checkout.  With this option, Cuyana will send customers a reusable bag to fill with unwanted clothing items. When you mail the bag back (with included shipping label), the donated clothing is given directly to women in need. Additionally, for every donation you make, you receive a $10 credit towards your next purchase!

A few favorite Cuyana pieces are highlighted below:

The Mini Saddle Bag ($195 in black leather; clay or rose in suede/leather mix) is on-trend this season and the perfect addition for spring as street fairs, festivals and farmer’s markets swing in to action.  Keep your essentials nearby and your load to a minimum! A standard size Saddle Bag is available for $295 in four colors.

cuyanaTimeless, lady-like, elegant…that is the Silk Sleeveless Shirtdress ($245 in black or white; long-sleeve version available for $250 in four colors).

For travel or at-home, the Classic Alpaca Cape ($195 in black, grey, camel) makes a great layering piece.  Love the belted look as a chic coverlet for a slip dress on a cool evening or, for a more boho feel, layered with a tee and paired with crops or skinnies.

Pencil Me In

Modern boatneck mini stripe tee
The Brezza - M.GemiMarlo crossbody bag
Lusting after this Citizen’s of Humanity Karmen Pencil Skirt!  It’s a steep $188 but exactly what I’ve been searching for in  a denim skirt – a polished pencil cut, moderately dark wash and is getting good reviews.  Can think of so many ways to style this classic piece!  The spring look shown here pairs it with the Gap Modern Boatneck Mini-Stripe Tee (SALE $20), a Paisley Print Infinity Scarf from Etsy ($20), Raspberry Brezza Flats from M.Gemi ($248), the Everlane Swing Trench in Tan ($135) and the Marlo Cross-body Bag from J. Crew ($98).  Can see it for winter with black tights, booties and a chunky sweater; for summer with a white tee, white kicks and straw bag. Endless options!

Transitional Twill Topper

 The Cotton U-neck - Everlane

It can stay chilly in the Midwest until well into May but many of us are already thinking about spring and some transitional outfits.  The clean lines and beautiful drape of this cafe au lait twill coat lend it to both office and casual wear.  Styled here as a weekend outfit, I paired the coat with my new favorite jeans and a black tee.  The olive bootie-styled sandals look great with the blacks and denim but will be useful come summer paired with navy, tan or cream. The fun fringe bucket bag finishes the look!
