I find myself day-dreaming a bit today so thought it would be fun to talk about aspirational pieces of clothing and accessories. You know…the ones that you hope to save up for some day and, once purchased, will treasure like your first-born child. Three of the pieces on my list are detailed below.
Do you keep a clothing bucket list? If so, I’d love to hear what’s on it!

Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps: $595
Named after Brigitte Bardot this classic shoe with a modest 70 mm/2.75 inch heel is the most attainable item (i.e., least expensive) on my list. The simple classic styling is exactly what I’m referring to when I encourage clients to invest in well made pieces with styling longevity. The Jimmy Choo Romy 85 is a similar style at the same price for girls that fall into the Choo Camp.
Cartier Tank Francaise Watch: $3,250-7,550 (depending on size/finishes chosen)
The original Cartier Tank was inspired in 1917 by the Renault Tanks which Louis Cartier saw in use on the Western Front. In the past 100 years the original has led to many variations such as the Tank Cintree, Tank Chinoise, Tank Folle, Tank Americaine and, my preferred, the Tank Francaise. This piece subtlety implies luxury…wealth…refinement!
Chanel 2.55 Bag: $3,600-6,000 (depending on size/finishes chosen)
In February of 1955, hence the 2.55 name, Coco Chanel updated her classic design house handbag. The 50th anniversary of this bag was celebrated in 2005 with the style named Reissue 2.55; however, 2.55 has now come to stand for all Chanel bags of this similar style. Whether in tweed, velvet or one of the many calfskin versions, the classic styling makes this bag investment worthy – as stylish and coveted in 2016 as it was in the 1950’s.
Cleveland Hustles, a new Shark Tank-like TV show on CNBC, features the leather goods company Fount on this week’s episode. With that in mind, we thought it would be fun to highlight a few of Fount’s offerings this week.
With it’s dual tones of caramel, The Bellfield Tote in Goldenrod is a great addition for fall! The tote is available in several sizes starting at $289. The Bellfield is available in five additional colors if Goldenrod is just not your thing. The styled look below features my favorite Lucky Brand Sienna Slim Boyfriend jeans, Kasheeda Border Print Top, Belia Bootie and Triple Hoop Gold Earrings.
The Banjo bag is the item I am currently most interested in although I’d love to see it in a smaller/clutch version. The sleek styling yet original circular shape makes it a really unique piece! The current Banjo measures an 18″ circumference and retails for $529.
Fount was started in 2013 by a husband-wife team in Cleveland, Ohio. Their products are made in the USA of full-aniline leather, free of any plastic top coating, which allows the pieces to develop a lovely patina over time and develop as heirlooms. Be sure to watch this Wednesday at 10 and check out Fount’s new shop in the Gordon Square district of Cleveland!
