We recently had the chance to experience a luxurious & pet-friendly getaway in Ohio’s Hocking Hills. The break from reality was much needed and made even more special because it was Dolce’s first family vacation!
The Summit
The Summit is one of several properties hosted by BeHome Lodging on Airbnb, and it is absolutely fantastic! This new property features 3 levels decorated in a contemporary style. It even features a rooftop dining area and bar, as well as a ground-level hot tub and firepit area.

With three bedrooms and three and a half baths, this venue is perfect for a multi-generational family getaway, a girlfriend (or guys) retreat, or a two-couples-with-kids holiday. Kids will especially love the bunk room and game room, complete with foosball and an assortment of board games.
The Bedrooms
The rooms at the Summit are spacious with large windows that allow you to take in all of the stunning views. The baths and showers are also very roomy, making it easy for multiple people to get ready at once.

The second-floor bunk room is one of the popular rooms in the house for those traveling with kids. It has two queen-size bunk beds and an en suite bathroom with views high above the trees. Right around the corner is the game room and a doorway leading to the rooftop terrace. The wide staircase to get into the beds and the view from the bunks make for an unforgettable experience!

The second floor boasts a second bedroom with a king-sized bed and another full bath, while the first floor houses the remaining king-bed bedroom and en suite. We didn’t test out the second-floor beds, but our first-floor king bed was super comfy & cozy for the cool fall nights.
Central Rooms
As you walk inside, you’re welcomed by a warm and stylish living room complete with a fireplace and a TV. At the far end of the living room is a half bath with a handy washer/dryer – perfect for towels that have been drying off muddy paws.

Adjacent to the living room, the Summit’s kitchen is well-appointed with everything you might need during your getaway. The large table is surrounded by windows, allowing you to enjoy the scenery, and it’s spacious enough to accommodate your entire group.

The second floor houses the previously mentioned game room, which features another large TV, allowing kids and grown-ups to watch different shows. The comfy chairs in the game room are perfect for cuddling up with a good book.

Outdoor Spaces
The outside spaces at the Summit are just as welcoming and carefully considered as the interior ones!
There’s a gas grill, a fantastic hot tub, and fire pit areas with Adirondack chairs, and even a dog tie-out. The hosts truly thought of everything! A post-hike soak in the hot tub is the perfect remedy for sore muscles.

On the rooftop, you’ll find a spacious deck perfect for lounging or sunbathing. There’s a cute bar with a small fridge and a dining table with a built-in firepit for dinner under the stars. And do look up while you’re here at night. The evening sky is spectacular, putting on a show better than anything you’ll find on Netflix.
Hocking Hills Highlights
You could visit Hocking Hills multiple times and still not take in all that the park has to offer. On this trip, we focused on some of the most popular places, as our last visit was almost 15 years ago.

We took Dolce along on a morning hike that visited Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and Rose Lake. He can be finicky on walks at home, but all the new scents and textures had him keeping pace! We stopped back home for lunch on our rooftop patio, and then just Gavin and I headed out again for some more hiking.

This time, we visited Old Man’s Cave area, which has a great visitor center, clean bathrooms, and trails that lead to many interesting sights. There are lots of steps in this area! If we return in the summer, I’d love to check out Lake Logan and the kayaking and paddleboard options there.
Why Stay?
It’s not too late to catch a bit of fall color or to start planning for next year. The Summit is super-comfortable, and the amenities are well thought out. They even have a bowl of hair ties in the bathroom!
Unlike many Airbnbs, there’s no chore list for you to complete before leaving. The hosts want you to enjoy and relax throughout your stay. Our only word of caution is to make sure you take an SUV or truck. The gravel driveway is steep and long!
Thanks for stopping by! Check out more of our Hocking Hills adventure on Instagram. Until next time…
