Over the years, we’ve become progressively more cognizant of what we choose to consume each day. This means less processed, more locally produced food, and with a higher focus on quality. And it’s why we now limit our beef purchases to Certified Angus Beef at locally owned and operated Acme Fresh Market (serving the NE Ohio area for over 125 years)!

Note: Thank you to Acme Fresh Market for sponsoring this post. I was provided compensation in order to try their products and share my thoughts about the Acme Fresh Market meat department. As always, the opinions expressed in this article are 100% my own. For Natty Gal’s full disclosure policy, click here.
The many designations of meat in the grocery can be overwhelming! There are the USDA grades (Prime, Choice, Select, etc.) as well as the type of cattle that the beef comes from (Angus, Charolais, etc.). So what makes the Certified Angus Beef brand so special?

I spoke with one of the butchers at my Acme Fresh Market store to learn more. In brief, Certified Angus Beef:
- is USDA Prime, the top quality category as specified by the US Department of Agriculture; AND
- meets 10 additional quality standards, the most important of which involve the marbling of the beef.
It truly is “a cut above”!
Where to Purchase Certified Angus Beef

Acme Fresh Market makes it easy to find Certified Angus Beef since that is the bulk of their beef purchases. The staff in the meat department is friendly and always willing to answer my questions. They also cut and grind the meat in-store daily and will trim purchases to whatever specifications you ask of them.

We recently brought home this spectacular ribeye, seasoned it with a bit of Montreal Steak Seasoning and grilled it on the Traeger along with some miniature peppers. A quick top-off with some blue cheese and we were ready to feast!

Thanks so much for your likes, shares, and follows! Until next time,
My favorite cut is the sirloin.
Ooo, yum! Thanks for commenting and good luck with the giveaway!
I love Angus Ribeye. Wish we had an Acme close to me
The one we made in this post was excellent! Yes, we’re fortunate to have a couple in close range.
I’ve just started to like beef, honestly, so I’m not up on cuts, but we usually buy nice, lean cuts that we can turn into tacos. Yum!
Oh, I love that idea and don’t think of doing cut beef (as opposed to ground) for tacos! My husbands a huge fajita addict so am sure he’d be on board with that idea!
The marbling on the meats looks mouth-watering! I would not have thought about Acme meat counter for my meat – but I will try it now! Thank you Natty Gal!
It was delicious! And please do – they have a great supply!
