Do you find it more challenging to incorporate seasonal trend items as you’ve gotten older? Crop tops? No thanks. Side cut-outs? I’ll take a pass. This year we’re in luck! I’ve found three easy to wear fall trends for women over forty that I’m sharing in today’s post.

Easy to Wear Fall Trends
As a 53-year-old, the preppy look defined my 1980’s high school days. It’s back again this fall in a slightly more sophisticated manner. Luckily it’s a super easy trend to wear! Think polo collars, blazers, stripes, plaids, argyle, and headbands. Just not all at once!
Another blast from the past! That’s right, ladies – matching sets are back! I find them easiest to wear as lounge sets (thankfully a far cry from those purple-fuschia-teal tracksuits of the 90’s) but have also found some lovely knit skirt and wide-leg trouser combos that are in the carousel below. All the cozy feels for the crisp fall weather!
I recently ordered this matched leopard set (linked below) and am in love with it! The pants are true to size. I could have gone down one from my regular size in the top but it’s workable, just slightly off the shoulder. Plan to wear it together as well as separates. The top looks great with denim and cream bottoms and the cropped pants coordinate well with cream, oatmeal, and camel cozy cardigans.
From dainty to bold, geographic prints are having a moment! Update your fall basics with a geo print top or a statement-making geometric print coat. Dresses make for another easy update and will pair well with the basic cardigans/blazers you already own. In addition to the pieces below, retail giant ZARA has quite a few unique and budget-friendly options!
