Bio: Hello! My name is Taylor and I am the Content Creator for the lifestyle blog CinCityChic. CinCityChic encompasses fashion, beauty, and lifestyle topics. I am passionate about cultivating creative inspiration to help others boost their confidence. Cincinnati is home and I incorporate upcoming events, local stores, and my personal recommendations within my blog about the amazing 513. As an explorative and fun-loving millennial I am still finding my own path in this world. CinCityChic is my escape and journey that I enjoy sharing with others!

Styling Notes: If you check out my closet you will find way more dark clothing, than bright colors, especially pastels. Since we are officially in Spring, I am pushing myself to bring out more colors. Spring calls for pastels! I especially love pastels on darker skin. If you are of darker complexion, look for items in lavender, cream, peach, or yellow. Those shades will definitely compliment your rich dark complexion.

For my look, I opted for this cropped pastel pink sweater. I bought this years ago at H&M. It’s Spring, which means warmer weather! So, I like to pull out my crop tops as soon as possible. If you are plus size like me, don’t be afraid to flaunt your crop top! I paired the top with these black sweatpants and all white Adidas sneakers. The look is effortless and definitely puts me in the Spring mindset, full of optimism and freshness. As the sweater says, fabeleuse, right?

Bio: Hi Friends! My name is Anastasia (Stacy) and I’m the fashion guru behind Styled by Stacy.  I’m a lover of everything about the fashion industry from it’s unique designs and art to its ever changing atmosphere. I started my blog because I wanted to share my love of fashion, creativity, and my style with people everywhere. Styled by Stacy offers trend styling, my fashion favorites, and a love for my city, The CLE!

For this quarter’s Ageless Style blog, I’m not only bringing you styling tips for the thirty-something girl but, also for the mama to be! If you follow along on the blog or the gram you will know I recently welcomed Baby #2!

Styling Notes: Nothing says Spring like the perfect pastel! That’s right, time to brighten up your wardrobe with springtime hues like soft pinks, lavenders, and sky blues. Especially right now with being cooped up inside during social distancing. Something about infusing color into my wardrobe pallet helps me feel refreshed.

What’s my springtime color of choice? Pink! An easy pastel that matches most skin tones and pairs perfectly with springtime’s most popular print, florals. When styling pink for this quarter’s Ageless Style post, I decided to go for a simple and inexpensive t-shirt dress. This dress was only $12 at Target and important to me to choose an item that was a little more budget-friendly. With the uncertainty most Americans are going through right now during the Covid-19 epidemic I understand money can be tight. I also love the classic t-shirt dress because you can mix and match with multiple wardrobe pieces to create a fresh new look every time you wear it! Here I have it paired with a simple denim jacket, but you can throw on a fun floral kimono or a cool knotted hem graphic. Check out my blog for more inspo on how I styled it!

Style Tip: I find when it comes to incorporating pastels not every color is for everyone. With my hair color and skin tone, lavender doesn’t work for me, but pink and powder blue are perfect. Once you know your perfect hue, incorporating pastels in your wardrobe is a breeze!

40’s Blogger: Lesa of Prissy Missy Loves |IG: prissymissydoll

Bio: I’m Lesa, better known as Prissy Missy, and I am the creative force behind Prissy Missy Loves. I cover plus size style, often with a bit of pin up flair, and I promote authenticity and body positivity. My goal is femme empowerment, body love, and and encouragement to embrace new trends.

Styling Notes: As someone who wore so many dark colors in their younger years, I have really grown to embrace pastels the last few years. Also when thinking pastels, it doesn’t mean just pink. I love how pink looks on me, but I love the sunny appeal about pastel yellow. It is a fun color to use, and it goes with so many things!

For spring looks, I like to mix dark colors with pastels to make the colors really pop. Mixing pastels with florals gives a fun, playful look that works for just about any age!

Styling Tips: If you worry about pastels being too overpowering, as in giving you a washed out look, take my advice from the Winter Whites and use something pastel as an accent. Start with a scarf maybe or something small and then work your way up from there!

50’s Blogger: Betsy of Natty Gal | IG: nattygaldotcom

Bio:  Hello, friend!  I’m Betsy, the Cleveland blogger behind Natty Gal, wife to Gavin and fur-mom to Dolce.  My passion is to encourage women like you to dismiss the clutter in your life and to focus on what matters most.  Natty Gal shares inspiration for cultivating a simple, stylish and satisfying life via lifestyle, fashion and travel topics. Come join the journey and create your best life with me!

Styling Notes: Pastels can be a bit tricky as they sometimes result in looking a bit washed out.  To counteract that effect, I paired this watercolor toned t-shirt with a saturated lavender cardigan, my favorite wide-leg crops from Madewell and neutral wedge sandals.  I’ve been pairing this straw clutch from Amazon with everything light and springy this season!  It’s the perfect size and, at under $15, is a bargain as well. The pinkish frames of these Maui Jim sunglasses coordinated well with some of the rosier tones in the tee. All the pieces (or similar) are linked below!

This year I find myself gravitating to these traditional springy tones a bit more so than usual.  They hint at optimism and brighter days to come! Wishing you all good health in these surreal times. 💜

60’s Blogger: Phyllis of Follow Phyllis | IG: followphyllis

Bio: Hi Ladies! I’m Phyllis, the woman behind followPhyllis.com, a website dedicated to empowering women over 60 to be their best selves. I blog primarily about fitness, nutrition, and motivation but I also love to bring my passion for fashion and beauty to my followers as well. Most women in my age group feel forgotten and I like to remind them of their vibrancy and vitality.

Styling Notes: There’s no denying pastel pink adds a beautiful and fresh splash to any wardrobe. I usually dress in black, white and grey but I do love pink. Pink is great on all skin tones and is a great face brightener. Pastel pinks are super girly and I just love wearing this color!  My favorite way to wear pink is with denim jeans. I think these two colors work so well together. I’m a sucker for cold shoulder tops (I bought my first one 45 years ago) and this top is one of my summer staples. I love the texture of the top and the subtle stripe. It’s from my favorite ShopHQ brand, Kate and Mallory.

Styling Tip: Keep the look fresh and flirty by accessorizing your pastel clothes with more neutral pieces. Since this top has a lot going on, I accessorized it simply with some silver jewelry. As for shoes, aim for a darker shade of the pastel piece you choose to add a pop to your overall outfit look.

Until next time…keep cultivating a simple, stylish, and satisfying life!

  1. Hi Betsy. I hope you all are doing well. It’s nice to visit your blog and get inspired for spring. I love the purple cardigan you are wearing, and the platform shoes. Those heels in my opinion are the most comfortable to walk in. Pink is my favorite color and I think the top Phyllis is wearing would make a great addition to a spring wardrobe. Happy Easter and thanks for sharing all these great spring looks.

    1. Hi Christina and thanks for stopping by! Glad you liked the purple cardigan and the shoes. They are comfortable but so high, I need to take care not to turn my ankles. I love pink as well and it’s one of the few other pastel shades that I’ll wear on the regular. Hope you’re enjoying some signs of spring.
