Cider, donuts and pumpkins have been filling the streets of Northeast Ohio for the past few weeks but the weather? Distinctly un-fall like! That all changed this last weekend when the temps took a nose dive and I could finally break out a fall outfit.

Finally! A Fall Outfit
One of my FAVORITE things to do as the leaves start to turn in Northeast Ohio is head over to Hinckley Lake! The fall colors and reflections on the water are just so beautiful. Walking and biking trails run around the park and there are even small paddle boats, kayaks, etc. available for rental.

I had my eye on this LL Bean sweater last year but didn’t act quickly enough and it sold out. When it was re-released this fall, it became one of my first seasonal purchases. The black, grey and white tones suit my wardrobe color palette so much better than some of the more traditional fair isle patterns you see out there.

As luck would have it, when we visited this past Sunday they were holding one of the Voyageur Canoe paddles – the last for this season. While we didn’t partake, it’s a popular event with kids. You can travel back in time, hearing stories about fur traders and such while you help paddle the canoe. You might even be offered a warm treat from the pot on the fire at the end!
