Last week we talked fall/winter basics, this week let’s start getting to the fun stuff – COLOR! At first glance, the Pantone palette for fall 2018 uses many colors similar to their 2017 palette but in distinctly brighter tones. For many of us, that will be a good thing. Rare is the bird that doesn’t look good jewel hues!

2018 Fall/Winter Color Trends: Outfit One – Royal & Teal
I LOVE teal! I mean, it’s in my logo, right? So I nearly died when I found these fabulous M. Gemi boots in teal and knew that I’d want to form an outfit around them. The Mark Jacobs ad photo from above was the perfect inspiration for this color-blocked outfit. Styling Note: When pairing a wide leg crop pant with a boot, make sure the bottom of the pant hem fully covers the top of the boot for a long, clean line.

- Banana Republic blazer
- Banana Republic tank
- J. Crew wide leg crop pant
- Etsy scarf
- M. Gemi Corsa boot
- Michael Kors Junie handbag
2018 Fall/Winter Color Trends: Outfit Two – Red Pear & Mellow Rose
This second outfit was inspired by the fabulous Pop & Suki take-out bag shown above and is a bit more traditional in it’s use of fall tones. The rich, red pear trouser pairs so nicely with the dustier shades of the mellow rose jacket and chambray shirt, while the bag adds drama. For a bolder look, try an earring in a muted yellow-green/apple tone.

- All Saints leather biker jacket
- Madewell chambray shirt
- Express Columnist pant
- Nine West Helmer mule
- Kendra Scott Cosette earrings
- Pop & Suki takeout bag
2018 Fall/Winter Color Trends: Outfit Three
The last outfit today shows how you can quickly update your basics with one quick purchase. The Tory Burch tote incorporates several of the 2018 Fall/Winter color trends in the stripe pattern and can be worn with multiple fall core closet pieces.

- Eileen Fisher cardigan
- Look for Less Madewell Ryder cardigan
- Socialite thermal henley
- Tommy Jeans Maia skirt
- Dolce Vita Perse bootie
- Halogen beaded necklace
- Tory Burch Ella striped tote
