Mad for Dad: Shop Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day can be bittersweet if you’ve lost your dad.  Mine passed in the summer of 2008 and Father’s Day was the last holiday that I spent with him.  During the visit it was clear he was ill and sure enough, the day after we headed back to Ohio he was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed a scant three weeks later.  Am so glad I have that last memory of spending the week with him!

If you still have your dad, give him a call, a hug or try one of the ideas below to celebrate the one who was likely the first man in your life!

Natty Guy Favorites

All Birds Wool Runners

We came upon this Kickstarter company when looking for a pair of lightweight and comfortable shoes for travel (see original post here).  A year plus later and Natty Guy still loves wearing them and gets tons of compliments when he’s out and about.  We’ve gifted them to several people, all with rave reviews!

Barbour Bedale Jacket

This English brand has been around since the late 1800’s and holds a royal warrant for supplying the Queen, Duke and Prince Charles with waterproof and protective clothing.  Barbour products are pricey but Natty Guy proclaims this the perfect jacket.  Their classic, well-made coat will stay in your wardrobe for years!

Ray-Ban Wayfarer in Matte Black

While the Wayfarer has been a classic for many years, the new matte finish on this pair gives them a distinctly current look.

  1. Very moving post- it’s true, the best present you can give is your time to those you love.💗

  2. I wish I could give anything close to the gifts mentioned in the post.
I lost my father 6 years back. We realise the real worth of loved ones only when they go away from us. If we can spend some quality time with our parents, then any day can be named Father’s day/Mother’s day. At the end of the day, our parents don’t expect much but only love and time from us.

    1. So very sorry for your loss, am sure today is tough for you. Very good advice that any day can be a parent day. Hugs, Elizabeth
